How time flies...

Jeans - forever - young fashion

It was 1991 when it all began. An idea became reality. INDIGO - Jeans & Young Fashion was founded in 1991.

Founded at that time in the form of a 2 person GbR, it has existed since 2002 in the legal form of a GmbH & CO KG.

The entry in the commercial register as “registered merchant EK” took place in 1995.

The focus of the range was initially on jeans with a share of over 50%.

The range was supplemented by tops such as jackets, shirts, sweatshirts, t-shirts and belts. Everything is “unisex”. Mixed with a few items for women as needed.

Today the target group definition is clear - "Jeans - forever - young - fashion".

A well-maintained range of jeans in the basic and fashion area as well as young fashion for boys and girls with the associated accessories form the basis of business today.

The starting point for business activities was Poststrasse 8 in Grossenhain (approx. 18,000 inhabitants).

The first shop with an area of 55 m2 was opened there in 1991. The property has been owned since 1993.

A year later, in August 1992, followed in Riesa (approx. 45,000 inhabitants)

the second store. This time with a sales area of 60 m².

In 1994 another restaurant was opened in the newly built Riesa Puschkintor - Passage

opened with a store size of 120 m².

The business on the Poststrasse in Grossenhain was expanded to 150 m² in 1997.

The Riesa store with 60 m² was closed in October 1997.

At the same time a shop was opened in Döbeln (population 28,000) with a sales area of 110 m².

Also in 1997 we left the name "INDIGO - Jeans & Young Fashion"

as well as the associated logo as a word and figurative mark under patent law.

In October, a 1a location of Meissen (35,000 inhabitants)

opened a shop with an area of 103 m².

In the large district town of Riesa, where a branch already exists, was opened in 1999 in the inner-city ELBGALERIE

an S. Oliver store with a size of 105 m² opened. This business was run as an independent company (GmbH) until 2002. The S.Oliver Store and the shop in the Puschkin - Tor Passage merged in 2004 on an area of 360m² in the Elbgalerie Riesa.

In August 2002, the Meißner and Döbelner shops were destroyed by a flood. The Meißner shop opened

again after a complete renovation in December 2002.

The Döbelner branch, however, was no longer opened,

because the landlord could not make the necessary new investments in a timely manner.

From 2004 to 2016 there was a branch in Gera Arcaden (75 m²) and since 2006 in Chemnitzer Sachsenallee (110 m²).

Both shops only carry a pure fashion range for girls.

In 2006, the CI and the CD were also revised and adapted.

In March 2009 a CBR store was opened in downtown Goßenhain (195m² retail space).

In January 2011 the INDIGO Chemnitz business was sold to another operator.

On March 1st, 2011 the INDIGO Gera store was sold to an employee

was continued under the name INDIGO until August 2016 and then closed for personal reasons.

In 2012 the CBR store was converted into the "Modehaus Rühle" after a renovation and a change in the range.

Brands such as Marc Aurel, Fuchs & Schmitt, Margittes,

Blue Fire, MAC, Monari, Raffaelo Rossi, Soyaconcept and Sportalm for women.

On June 5th, 2013 the Meissner store was destroyed for the second time by a devastating flood.

In August 2015 our INDIGO branch in the Elbgalerie Riesa was completely rebuilt

and brought up to date both visually and technically.

As of 01/01/2015, INDIGO Fashion GmbH & CO KG changes its name to INDIGO Fashion eK. Still there

the Rühle fashion house the men's range and focuses on high-quality women's clothing.

On July 23, 2016, we celebrated our 25th anniversary with over 1,000 guests, including a large number of customers

under the motto "INDIGO Fashion Mega Party" in the inner courtyard of Riesa.
